French Toast Casserole

On my spring break vacation last week, my aunt made this delicious french toast casserole. Looking at the ingredients, I was scared it was going to take forever! But really it was put together in a snap. It was so good I automatically knew it would make a great blog post. So here it is!!

Prep Time:
15 Minutes
Cook Time:
 45 minutes

What you need:
1 loaf Crusty Sourdough Or French Bread
8 whole Eggs
2 cups Whole Milk
1/2 cup Whipping (heavy) Cream
3/4 cups Sugar
2 Tablespoons Vanilla Extract
 FOR THE TOPPING:
1/2 cup All-purpose Flour
1/2 cup Firmly Packed Brown Sugar
1 teaspoon Cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon Salt
1 stick Cold Butter, cut into pieces

Directions:

Preheat the oven at 350 F. Grease a pan about 9 x 13 inch. Rip the bread into small chunks, put these evenly in pan. Set aside.
Beat the eggs, the whipping cream, and the milk. Add the sugar and vanilla.

 Pour this over the bread.
For the topping, mix the flour, sugar, cinnamon, and salt in a bowl. Add the butter and with a fork mash it until it resembles tiny pebbles. Sprinkle over the top of the casserole. Bake in the oven for 45 minutes.
 Coming out of the oven...
 Getting ready to be eaten...
Drizzle syrup and love it!!!
This is my seconds!!!! ;)
Hope you enjoy... you will.
