Book Review: Divergent

Beatrice Prior has always struggled with being selfless. But how could she be struggling? Being selfless is in her blood, Abnegation is the faction in her blood. She is definitely not Candor (honest), probably not Amity (peaceful), she never wanted to be Erudite (intelligent) because of the hatred between Abnegation and Erudite. But she always felt pretty Dauntless (brave). On an appointed day of every year, all sixteen-year-olds have to choose between all five factions. Beatrice knows she has to make a choice between her family and what she wants. She decides on something that not only surprises her family, but also herself.
There have been mixed feelings about this book and if it is appropriate for whatever ages. I read it expecting it to be like the Hunger Games. I personally think it is fine for twelve-year-olds. I understood the plot and would not take my eyes off the book. Divergent was written by Veronica Roth. It has 487 pages. It was published 2011.

Hope you enjoyed this review. Have fun reading.
